Mrs. Christine A. Lyles, 83, of Phenix City, AL passed Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in Columbus, GA
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m.EST Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Bethel A.M.E. Church with Pastor Brandon Thornton, officiating.Visitation is Friday, October 6, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST
Christine Lyles was born on January 24, 1940 in Russell County,AL to the late Freeman Alexander and the late Dora Echols Alexander. Surrounded by her loved ones, Christine departed this life and entered eternal rest on September 27, 2023.
She accepted Christ at an early age joining Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Fort Mitchell, AL under the leadership of the late Reverend Harris. Later she continued her faith walk as a devoted member of Faithful Missionary Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL.
After high school, Christine began employment at National Linen Service. She later retired from Arbor Springs Health and Rehab in Opelika, AL.
Mrs. Christine united in holy matrimony to the late H.V. Lyles.She is preceded in death by a great grandson, Caden Nelson; one son-in-law, Gregory Jackson; two sisters, Cynthia King and Inell Davis and one brother, Freeman Alexander, Jr.
Christine leaves to cherish her memories her six children, Earnestine Taylor, Sharon (Greg) Lewis, Daffany Brewton, Tanya (Carl) Porter, Christopher (Kimberly) Lyles and Lashondria Jackson; four brothers, Richard (Barbara) Alexander, Eddie (Carmen) Alexander, Johnny (Josephine) Alexander and Willie (Mary) Alexander; three sisters, Bertha White, Dora Richardson and Betty (Emmett) Pritchett; brother-in-law, Robert (Katie) Lyles; five sisters-in-law, Catherine Pinkard, Christine Alexander, Juliette Gosha, Masie (Milton) Taylor and Juanita (Johnnie) Taylor; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great -great granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
