Ms. Clara L. Williams, 85, of Phenix City, AL passed Monday, November 25, 2024 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST, Monday, December 2, 2024 at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church, 1403 3rd Street South, Phenix City, AL with Rev. W. G. Perkins, pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL. Visitation will be 1 - 4 p.m. EST, Saturday, November 30, 2024.
Ms. Clara Williams was born March 4, 1939 in Rutherford, AL to the late Richard Brown, Sr. and Gussie Johnson Brown. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Missouri Missionary Baptist Church in Rutherford, AL. She later joined the Mt. Mariah Missionary Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL where she served faithfully until her health started to fail. She gained her wings on Monday, Nov 25, 2024 leaving her earthly home bound for heaven.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Ms. Sequoia Curtis.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Willie Joe (Edna) Brown of Pittsview, AL and John (Cassandra) Brown of Columbus, GA; four daughters, Marianne Cunningham of Northwest Concord, NC, Anne Marie (Jimmie) Alfred, Jacqueline Curtis and Julia (Dante) Hill all of Phenix City, AL. She also leaves to cherish her memories of 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
To the family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss. Death is never easy, it's hard pill to swallow. But how comforting it is to know that we have the hope of the resurrection.
