Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m EST on Saturday, July 19, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Marlon Brown, eulogist and Rev. Alford Bunkley, officiating. Public viewing is 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, July 18, 2025.
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Cleveland Howard Jr., who departed this life peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 12, 1950, in Juniper, Georgia, Cleveland was the beloved son of the late Mr. Cleveland Howard Sr. and Mrs. Lucille Howard.
Cleveland was a remarkable man whose life was a shining example of compassion, humility, and kindness. He was an extraordinary individual known for his unwavering work ethic, gentle spirit, and deep love for his family. A true family man, he found joy in every moment spent with those he loved most. Whether enjoying a spirited sports game or admiring the beauty of classic cars, Cleveland lived life with enthusiasm and grace.
On July 31, 1999, Cleveland was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Darlene Bunkley, and for 26 cherished years, they shared a devoted and loving partnership. He leaves to honor and celebrate his memory: His devoted wife of 26 years, Darlene Bunkley- Howard; two daughters: Michelle Howard-Corbitt of Montgomery, AL, and Tracey (Vincent) Marshall of Talbotton, GA; one son, Demetrick Mathis of Columbus, GA; two stepsons, Anthony Bunkley of Columbus, GA; the late Joseph Bunkley, one bonus son, Jerome L. Walton of Indianapolis, IN; 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willie Frank (Claudia) Howard of Columbus, GA, and the late Otis (Catherine) Howard of Box Springs, Georgia ;one sister, Terest Brown;one uncle, James (Deloris) Marshall of Savannah, GA; three brothers- in- law, Henry Robinson, Sr., Rev. Alford Bunkley and McKinley Robinson; sister- in- law, Cynthia Newton. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss him tremendously.
Cleveland's legacy of love, strength, and dedication lives on through the many lives he touched. His presence was a blessing, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
I will always remember the life lessons you taught me over the years to me become the man I am today. Stay strong my family!
