Ms. Clorinda Weeks, 20, of Smiths Station, AL passed Thursday, August 25, 2022 in Birmingham, AL.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Friday, September 2, 2022 at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Noble D. Williams, officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Clorinda was born on September 11, 2001 in Columbus, GA to the parents, Clo Weeks and Neal Ricks, Sr.
Growing up in a godly home, Clorinda’s spiritual roots were fostered at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Noble D. Williams. She accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member within the youth department, choir, usher board and other small groups.
Clorinda was a kind and tenderhearted young woman. She was soft spoken, but very self-driven and worked hard to excel in school and life. She was a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham studying Kinesiology. Clorinda graduated from Central High School with honors in 2020. Clorinda grew up playing softball, volleyball, cheerleading and was a member of the Beta Club. She loved to sketch, hang out with her friends and be in the company of family. She touched so many lives and will continue to for many years.
She is survived by her mother, Clo Weeks of Smiths, AL; father, Neal Ricks, Sr of Phenix City, AL; brothers, Neal Ricks, Jr. of Columbus, GA, Marcus Jett (Shieacha) of Phenix City, AL, Reginald Weeks (Tamieka) and Antonio Weeks of Douglasville, GA; sisters, Shynea Edwards (Christopher) of Maryland and Marissa Jones of Columbus, GA; uncles, Ralph Sander, Ray Ricks and Danny Ricks; aunts, Sara Jones (Johnny) of Columbus, GA, Georgetta Jones (Steve) of Phenix City, AL, Elizabeth Palmore and Diane West of Atlanta, GA; nieces, Kaitlyn and Ansley Weeks; nephew, Hudson Weeks and a host of other family and friends who will forever cherish her loving memory.

Praise God for the precious life of our beloved sweetheart, Clorinda! Thank you Clo, for sharing Clorinda with us, especially at our family gatherings, that were filled with extra joy by your presence! Blessed with both, an inner and outer beauty, Clorinda was graced with a purpose filled life. She was born to help bring joy to the lives of others! Although short lived, Clorinda's young life positively impacted so many. She brought love, joy, and happiness to all of us who were blessed to know her! Clorinda's beautiful and radiant smile, her soft spoken, quiet demeanor, and her love for others, added so much sunshine to our lives! We are so thankful to Clorinda's devoted parents who loved her dearly; provided her with an invaluable Christian upbringing, and so many wonderful life experiences. Clorinda was a light in our Youth fellowship & that light will truly be missed! I can remember that soft, gentle but STRONG presence she had and her willingness to do what was asked of her without any hesitation. Clorinda was indeed a "Young Achiever"! She was such a sweet, kind spirit who excelled in academics and was actively involved in her spiritual growth through choir, ushering, youth ministry, etc. Our hearts are saddened, and we feel for Clo and the family. May God comfort your souls, hearts, and minds as you embrace this unthinkable loss. Rest in Heaven, our sweet Clorinda.
