Mrs. Coleena Mister Sanders, 67, of Columbus, GA passed Wednesday, April 12, 2023 in Columbus,GA.
Funeral service to be 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Johnny Flakes, III, officiating. Burial to follow in Green Acres Cemetery, Columbus, GA. Visitation is Friday, April 21, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Coleena was born October 16, 1955 in Columbus, GA to Minnie Lou Cook and the late Willie Edward Cook, Sr. She was the oldest of seven children and lived most of her life in Columbus, GA.
Coleena joined Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Usher Board Ministry and the Partners In Christ Caring Ministry.
In 1991 Coleena and Prather married and shared their love for 32 years. Coleena worked 35 plus years for the Muscogee County School System, most recently at Shaw High School.
If you crossed paths with Coleena you were etched in her memory because she did not forget a face or name of those she met through her life. She was always a loving, kindhearted, and giving person who will be greatly missed by many. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Edward Cook, Sr. and brother, Meredith Cook.
Coleena's memories will live on through her loving and devoted husband, Prather "Jake" Sanders; five children, Catina Cook, William Mister, Jr., Marlon Mister (Brittaney), Darrell Mister and Ricardo Mister; five granchildren; her loving mother, Minnie Lou Cook; siblings, Delisa Fisher (Carl), Willie Edward Cook, Jr. (Mildred), Fabian Cook (Avistine), Artmus Cook (Patricia), Carrie Williams and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins other relatives and friends.
