Connie Hawkins, 69, of Columbus, GA passed on March 23, 2026 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Benjamin F. McGruder, Pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Public viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Taylor Funeral Home.
Connie Annette Drake Hawkins was born November 16, 1956, in Columbus, Georgia to Lizzie Drake and the late Isaiah Drake. Her son, Alexis Lorenzo Hawkins and the love of her life, Joe Nathan Hawkins and one sibling preceded her into eternity, Wilfred Dale Drake.
She accepted Christ at an early age and dedicated precious years to Jesus Christ. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1974. She attended Lewis Memorial Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member with the Pastors Aide until her entry into eternity. She held careers as a Cosmetologist and as a Certified Nurses Assistant.
Connie leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Lizzie Drake of Columbus, GA: one daughter, LaShunda (Jessie) Harris of McDonough, GA; three brothers, Freddie Lee Drake, Maverick (Mac) Drake, Alblon (Al) Drake; four grandchildren, Xavier (Shiho) Harris of Lawrenceville, GA, Marcelus Harris, Gabriel Harris of McDonough, GA, Ja’Lexis Hawkins of Jacksonville, Florida; one great-grand, Giovanni Harris of Lawrenceville, GA; nephews, Cleavon Drake, Fredrick (Nicole) Drake, Terrance Drake, and Christopher Drake; great-nephew, Jesson Jordan, Jayden Buckhannon, and Jaden Drake; great-nieces, Shaquilla Drake, Jada Drake and Little Ms. Jayda Drake; three special sister-in-law, Colisa, Jetton, Tracy Hawkins and Deloris Hawkins all of Ashdown, AR; one brother-in-law, Ray Jetton of Texarkana, TX; a host of relatives and friends.
