Cora Mae Watts, 73, passed on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Greater Shady Grove Baptist Church, Columbus, GA, with Pastor Marcus Gibson, officiating. Burial to follow in West End Cemetery, Phenix City, AL. Public viewing is 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Ms. Cora Mae Allen Watts was born on November, 17 1951 in Union Springs, Alabama to the late Robert Lee Allen Sr, and Mary Blackmon Allen. She transitioned from this earthly life to eternal rest on May 31, 2025, at Piedmont Columbus Regional- Midtown Hospital.
Ms. Cora Mae Allen Watts received her formal education from education from the Public School system in Bullock County, Alabama. She attended South Girad High School where she received her High School Diploma. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age, and joined Mount Mirah Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama. She later joined Greater Shady Grove Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia under Rev. Dr. Marcus J. Gibson. She was faithful member and served on the Usher Board until her health declined.
Ms. Cora Mae Allen Watts will be greatly missed by her family and friends and those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Allen Sr, and Mary Allen Blackmon. Her brothers, Henry Allen, Robert Lee Allen Jr, and Rev. Dr. LK Allen, and a nephew, Bruce Allen.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted sister-n-law, Mrs. Ola Phillips Allen. Neices, Shenita Thomas of South Carolina, Sharolyn Johnson, of Columbus, Georgia. Sarita (Curtis) Johnson, of Lato, Alabama. Sonja (Robert) Keys of Columbus, Georgia. A host of relatives, friends and loved ones.
Many Prayers for Cora's family. We had some good times together. She would always ask how are you doing and about kitty Xena. She will be missed, as she was loved.
