Mr. Corey Trent Barnard, 33, formerly of Columbus, GA passed on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 in Mint Hill, NC.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Forrest Park Baptist Church with Pastor Donovan Coley, officiating. Public visitation will be on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST at Taylor Funeral Home.

Mr. Barnard was born April 26, 1993 in Columbus, GA to his loving and devoted mother, LaChelle A. Barnard and his father, John F. Harris.

While a social butterfly of Butler High School, Corey soon after earned his GED in Mecklenberg County, NC.

Blessed with a genuine heart and extraordinary creativity, Corey was an artist gifted with many self-taught talents. He was an established tattoo artist, an Indie actor, a pianist learning to play the guitar. Through art, music and performance, he shared his many gifts and inspired those around him. Above all, Corey was a fearless child of God and a loving family man. His family remained at the center of his life, where he consistently demonstrated his care through his actions.

Corey was preceded in death by his grandfather, David McCarty; cousin, Katherine Alexandria Luke and his uncle, Albert Anderson.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, LaChelle A. Barnard; father, John F. Harris; step-father, Ltc. Douglas Sherrow; brother, Grayson Anderson; sisters, Dasja Barnard and Kiersten Harris; siblings, Cordell Coppins, Christopher Harris, Brittany Harris, Akira Harris, Azaiah Harris, Darien Bryant Kielah Yancey, Aerial Carlton and Johnathan Harris, Jr.; grandparents, Pete and Jacqueline Hicks, Catha and Etta Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
