Mr. Curtis Alphonso Carter, Jr., 60, of Phenix City, AL passed Sunday, May 22, 2022 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. EST Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. L.V. Brooks, officiating. Interment to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation is Monday, May 30, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Curtis Alphonso Carter, Jr. was born July 15, 1961 in Concord, NC to Vinetta Carter and the late Curtis Carter, Sr. After moving to Columbus, GA he was raised by his grandparents, the late Jesse and Vera Carter.
At a young age, he enjoyed playing baseball and the drums at his childhood church. Curtis received his education in the Muscogee County School District where he attended Hardaway High School, then after completing his studies he joined the United States Army. Upon returning back to Georgia, he started his profession as a painter where he worked at Herrington Paint Company for many years.
In his spare time he enjoyed coaching little league football, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves to mourn the love of his life, his wife, Amelia Carter; mother, Vinetta Carter; daughters Tamika Duncan, Harriett Maddox, Ebonie Davis, Lesley Jones, Renee Jones and Telesha Jones; sons, Curtiss Carter, D'Andrea Jones (Lynn), Anthony Jones and Nathan Jones; siblings Andrew Carter, Gregory Carter (Teresa), Benishla Carter and Stacey Blue (David); in-laws, Johnnie Jones (Elvester), Clyde Jones (Carolyn), Drydell Jones, Christine Allen (Walter), Catherine Sanders, Shirley Lewis and Clementine Green (Richard); 22 grandchildren; a dedicated uncle, Charlie Carter (Sharon), a devoted friend, Marieco Crawford and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews other relatives and friends that loved him
