Della Ann Bishop Sutton, a beautiful, kind soul, departed this life on September 23, 2024, in Columbus, GA at the age of 68. Born on March 25, 1956, in the serene town of Crisfield, MD, she was the daughter of Frances Graham and the late Russell Bishop.
Della's journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to family and friends. She shared a deep and abiding love with her late spouse, Archie Sutton, with whom she created a life filled with joy and cherished memories. After Archie's passing, Della found comfort and companionship with her special friend, the late Melvin Carter Sr., whose presence brought warmth to her heart.
Throughout her life, Della was known for her love of purses and perfume. Collecting beautiful and unique pieces brought her great joy, and she often shared this passion with her loved ones. Her collection was a testament to her appreciation for the finer things in life and her eye for beauty. Writing was another cherished hobby, allowing her to express her innermost thoughts and share her experiences with others. Her words were often a source of comfort and inspiration to those around her.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children Jakeisha (William) Pressley and Jason Sutton Sr.; her grandchildren, Jayda Sutton, Jason Sutton Jr., Dez Muir Cotton, Jayla Sutton, Jayden Sutton, Tristan Jones, Arden Pressley, and William Pressley IV; her brothers Thomas Bishop and Joseph (Edith) Bishop; her sisters Frances Bishop, Helen Shelton, and Lisa Bishop. In addition to her immediate family, Della leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Vanessa and Lori Bishop.
A private memorial will be held by the family.
Aunt Della, may you rest in peace. I was sorry to hear of your passing I am deeply saddened. You had such a sweet spirit I miss all the laughs, good food, baked goods and more importantly for excepting me even though I was not yours. You are now reunited with POP- POP rest easy. Love Tina
