Mr. Douglas James, 66, of Bell, CA passed Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Belle, CA
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, September 30, 2023 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Interment to follow in St. John A.M.E. Church Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. EST.
Mr. Douglas James was born September 12, 1957. He was the last of nine chidren born to the late Gus and Earline Bynam James. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He attended Mt. Olive High School, as well as Spencer High of Columbus, GA. He was a star athlete in football. He developed a passion for boxing and later made a profession in Los Angeles, CA.
Mr. James was preceded in death other than by his parents, his daughter, Denitra James.
Douglas leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Rashard (Lisa) James of Detroit, MI, AntQuon James and Donte James both of Los Angeles, CA; two brothers, Gus (Vivian) James of Atlanta, GA and Donald (Kay) James of Los Angeles, CA; sister, Veneda James Laron of Sacramento, CA; three sisters in law, Hattie James of Auburn, AL, Lorraine James of Los Angeles, CA and Vivian James of Atlanta, GA; ten grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, special cousins, Linda Lil Rodney, Nana, other relatives and friends.

I am just finding out that you made your transition home. I regret that our paths didn't cross again over all these years but I can never forget that face and smile.
