Dr. James Cobb, 71, of Columbus, GA passed Sunday, December 20, 2020 in Hurtsboro, AL.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. EST, Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Green Acres Cemetery.
Dr. James Cobb was born June 9, 1949 in Columbus, GA to the late Charlie Cobb, Sr. and the late Louvada Huguley. He transitioned from life on earth and gained his eternal wings on December 20, 2020 in Hurstboro, AL.
Dr. Cobb accepted the call to the ministry in 1976. He became a servant to God serving as a Pastor in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. He devoted his life to preaching and teaching in various churches throughout the Alabama Conference, currently serving as Pastor of Ross Chapel AME Zion Church, Hurtsboro, AL. and Presiding Elder of the Union Springs District. He served on a number of boards and committees throughout the AL/FL Episcopal District.
He was a Certified Electrician, having worked at TSYS and retiring from Synovus in 2004 from the General Maintenance Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bobby Cecil Cobb, Sr.
He leaves to cherish loving memories his beloved wife of 43 years, Artie Suber Cobb, a son Clemmie (Maria) Davidson and daughter Jaime (Rafael) Cobb Lewis; eight grandchildren, Semaj, David James, Szhani, Tyson, Nora, Kayla, Daryus, and Reginald; two brothers, Charlie (Yolanda) Cobb Jr. and Frank Jerome Cobb; brothers-in-law, Nathan (Charlene) Suber, III and Michael (Kimberly) Suber; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dr. Cobb was my pastor before i move my membership to Columbus. Ga. He was always trying to get the young people involve in different ministries and he accomplish a lot while at Ross Chapel. My condolences to the entire family and the church family.
