Mr. Earkus "Lee" Battle, Jr., 58, of Columbus, GA passed Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Monday, July 11, 2022 at The Potter's House Baptist Church Sincere Ministry, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Roy J. Jones, officiating. Interment to follow in St. Peter A.M.E Church Cemetery, Seale, AL. Visitation is Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
"Lee" was born July 20, 1963 in Pittsview, AL to the late Mary Jones Battle and Earkus Lee Battle, Sr. He made his earthly transition to eternal living on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 whole heartedly singing and praising the Lord. He confessed his belief at an early age, but rededicated his life and values to the Lord, with arms opened and his heart filled with the Holy Ghost, until his death. He was a devoted member of the Potter's House Baptist Church Sincere Ministry where he dedicatedly served as Head Security/Usher.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, Emma Battle and daughter, Erica Crump.
"Lee" leaves to cherish memories to his loving and devoted wife, Teresa Battle; his children, DeEarkus Battle, Eurkas Bryer, Ulreka Weaver, Chancey Jordan, Derrick Jordan, Lavar Wallace, Earkus Porter, Sr., Darrnell Allen, Ericka Porter, Eric Crump, Yolanda Glover, Shyree Battle, DaMichael Battle and Cianna Gram; seven brothers, Roy (Cynthia) Jones, Eddie (Tracy) Jones, Stash (Audrey) Jones, Ardese Day, Sr., Demitrus Browder, Chance Battle and Rev. Pryce (Vanessa) Battle, Sr.; three sisters, Margaret (Marcus) Grant, Stacey Jones and Vicktory (Mere) Eichelberger; 38 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rest in love Bud. You were definitely a stand up guy. I'm glad I met you 30 years ago. You never gave me wrong advice, you kept it 100 whether I wanted to hear it or not. That's what I will miss the most. Prayers to his family.
Man Bud I'm going to miss you my brother. Our talks on the phone me, you, and Sherri. Me and you discussing the Golden State Warriors and just talking period. Thank you for allow me to share time with YOU PRAYING and reading the Bible and listen to gospel songs. Most importantly I am so happy that you truly gave your life to Christ Jesus.
