Mr. Frank Thornton, Jr., 79, of Columbus, GA passed Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST Saturday, February 3, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1444 Highway 165, Ft. Mitchell, (Holy Trinity), AL with Father Dave Hamm, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Claver Cemetery, Holy Trinity, AL. Public viewing will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Frank Thornton Jr. affectionately known as “Flamp” was born March 25, 1944. He was the son of the late Frank Thornton, Sr. and the late Marie Miles. He was preceded in death by parents and siblings; John, Otis, Roosevelt, Maurice, Delia Thornton, and Frieda Watkins.

Mr. Thornton is survived by his brother Homer (Betty) Thornton, Dallas Texas. Three sisters; Lucille Adams Tarver, Ft. Mitchell, AL, Mary Ann Johnson and Willie Belle Neely, both of Columbus, GA. Loving caregivers: Terry Watkins, James and Wanda McCoy, Marion (Teresa) Thornton, Yvonne (Steven) Rush, Gerald and Denise Williams and Peter (Cordelia) Adams. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
