Obituary For Freddie Luke

Mr. Freddie Luke, 51, Phenix City, AL passed Monday, February 12, 2024 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. EST, Monday, February 19, 2024 in Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Charlie L. Sanders, Jr., pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Andrew Chapel AME Zion Church in Hurtsboro, AL. Public viewing Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. EST.

Mr. Freddie Luke was born August 21, 1972, to the late Jim Luke and Fannie Luke in Phenix City, AL. He departed this life on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

Freddie was a standout athlete. He excelled at football for many years, earning a Legacy Fame Award that can still be viewed today at Central High School. He graduated from CHS in 1991, while also pursuing his passion for cosmetology at the age of 16 years old.

He worked for several successful barber shops such as Hollywood in Columbus, GA for years. Freddie would ultimately work for other organizations such as Swift Mills but never abandoned his dedication to beautifying others. Freddie had a remarkable spirit of service on his life. He was known best for being kindhearted and a helpful hand to those he loved.

He was preceded in death by two sons; Montray Long and Montavious Luke.

He leaves to cherish his memory, loving mother; Fannie Luke; two sons, Elijah Luke and Monterious Luke; daughter, Montevia Luke of Phenix City, AL, sister; Sharon Luke of Phenix City, AL, five aunts; Annie Lewis of Syracuse, NY, Deloris (Howard) Thompson of Columbus, GA, Mary (Claude) Summers of Valdosta, GA, Brenda Washington and Alice (Thedois) Thomas, both of Hurtsboro, AL, three uncles; James Ross Jr. of Phenix City, AL, Eugene (Jetties) White of Indianapolis, IN and Johnny Luke of Springville, AL, niece; Jasmine Sanders of Atlanta, GA and a host of loving cousins, other relatives and beloved friends.
