Gaber Gibson, 84, of Seale, AL passed Saturday, July 27, 2024 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church located at 234 Ridge Rd in Seale, AL with Rev. Will M. Rayford, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Public visitation is 2:00-5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, August 2, 2024.
Gaber Gibson, affectionally called “Bunny”, was born March 23, 1940, to the late Annie B. Rutherford Gibson and Jarvis B. Gibson in Lato, AL. He ascended to heaven on July 27, 2024, from his home in Columbus, GA. He graduated from Spencer High School in Columbus, GA in June,1958. He accepted Christ at an early age and has been a lifelong member of the Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board for most of his adult life. He also served in the United States Army, where he obtained an honorable discharge.
Bunny achieved certification as a Master Barber and opened The Super “G” Barbershop in Columbus, GA. He served as owner and operator with the motto “Make America Beautiful!” … Get a haircut! His passions included vegetable gardening, growing flowers/roses, and fishing whether in ponds, in lakes, and even the Ocean; anywhere there was water! He loved meeting and helping people; therefore, He never met a stranger! He was very knowledgeable about any and anything known to man… (just let him tell you!). He would usually steer you in the right direction.
Bunny is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Jean Gibson; two daughters, Antwameka King, Antwanice Wall; four grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Will M. (Evelyn) Rayford, Ernest (Jaunita) Ryles, two sisters, Jacqueline Ryles Harris, Vickie (Norris) Kyles, and one aunt, Wylene Jackson, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
