George Hicks, Jr., 90, of Phenix City, AL, passed on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Friday, September 11, 2026 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor William Cooper, officiating. Public viewing will be held from 9:00 am. to 11:00 a.m. EST on the day of service.

Mr. George Hicks, Jr. affectionately known as “Bobby” to his family and friends was born April 13, 1936 in Powhatan, VA, son of the late George Hicks and the late Lena Hicks. He was a dedicated member of St. Rose DeLima Church, BSL, MS. St. Patrick Church, Phenix City, AL & House of God, Phenix City, AL.He retired as SFC from the United States Army after serving 20 years. Also a 20 year veteran retiring from NASA Head of Security.

He leaves to cherish his legacy his wife, Margaret Hicks; daughter, Petra Obie (Lee); sons, George Hicks, III, Jace Hicks and Anthony Hicks; grandson, Cameron DeJesus (Yalitza); granddaughters, Samarea Hicks, Journee Hicks, and Arianna Scott; honorary daughter, Lillian Labat; honorary granddaughter, Aria Mahone; and a host of other relatives and friends.
