Gregory Vidal Hunter, 51, of Columbus, GA passed on Saturday, May 3, 2025 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, May 17, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Rapheal Foster, officiating. Burial to follow in Edmonds Cemetery. Public viewing is 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025.
Mr. Gregory Vidal Hunter was born October 22, 1973 in Phenix City, AL at Cobb Memorial Hospital to Mildred Hunter and the late James Hunter. He attended Central High School, Phenix City, AL where he played basketball. He was a VIP player from ninth grade through the twelfth grade under Coach Wright. He attended Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC), Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Hunter joined the Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age under the late Rev. J.C. Henry. He served as the secretary of the Sunday school and a member of the choir. He also was a member of East Alabama Association Youth Choir.
Mrt. Hunter was preceded in death by his father, James Hunter; brother, Lorenzo Thomas; sister, Angel; father in law, Rev. Robert Duncan; brother in law, Marcus West; and best friend, Dwight.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Stoffie Duncan Hunter; a loving and devoted mother, Mildred Hunter; son, Jordan Hunter; two sisters, Alexis Phillips (Steven), Phenix City, AL, Theresa Ann Thomas, Columbus, GA; stepsons, Xavieus Duncan and Jerel Jackson; step-daughter, Shayla Duncan; mother in law, Bobbie Duncan; sister in law, Sophie Foster (Raphael); god brother, Ronald Coffee; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
