Mr. Harold Lee, 73 of Phenix City, AL passed Monday, November 29, 2021.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST Friday, December 10, 2021 at Nichols Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Richard Carter, pastor, officiating and Rev. Dr. Isaac N. Hudson, Jr. eulogist. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Mr. Harold Lee, affectionately known by some of his high school classmates as "Hawkchaw" was born February 9, 1948 to the late Homer C. Lee,Sr. and Alberta P. Lee of Phenix City, AL.
Harold was the oldest child of 9 and was very giving, hard working and a natural born protector over everyone he loved.
Harold played football in high school and graduated from South Girard High School in 1967. He was drafted to the Army soon after high school. He served in Korea, before returning to civilian life back home and marrying his high school sweetheart, Learah Edmond.
In 1971, Harold started working at Dolly Madison Bakery where he would work for over 30 years until he retired. He also worked part-time as a custodian in the Phenix City School System for several years and he was loved by the children and the teachers alike because of his giving spirit. He would help anyone and his love for cars and working on cars made him many friends over the years also. One of his favorite things to do was go to the car shows down in Moultrie, GA and search for tools and parts with his cousin and grandson.
Harold lived a life full of love laughter and to a host of the neighborhood children chose him as their "papa" too and he took care of all the bikes, and any other thing he could fix for them.
He is survived by wife of 51 years, Learah; his daughter, Tracy (Marcus); grandson, Javon; brothers, Nathaniel (Delores), Lamar; sisters, Linda, Margaret (Larry), Barbara and Elainifer; sisters-in-law, Janie, Debbie and Gloria and brothers- in-law, Charlie (Bertha),Isaac (Judy), Jimmy (Elizabeth) Clarence (Patricia) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jimmy,Toby,Rick and the entire Lee family, wanted to send my deepest condolences for the loss of Harold. May God bless and keep you all through this time of sorrow.

My sincere and deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of Mr Lee. He was my neighbor for 16 years and in all that time he was never without his smile and a kind word!! I will miss those talks we shared across the yard. Family remember Earth has no sorrow Heaven can't heal!!! May God continue to strengthen and bless you all through this difficult time. God mercy and praises are well deserved to the memory of Mr. Harold Lee. When I dated his sister Barbara during high school days, I can say he was always cordial and kind hearted to me in all encounters. I would always ask how he was doing up to the final days of his life here on earth. I am praying for the LEE family during this time of great loss. There is a special place for him in God's holy house. RIP dear Harold!
