Ms. Hattie Baker-Stanley, 85, of Columbus, GA passed on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 in Columbus, GA
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST, on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church, Salem, AL with Rev. Marshall Morgan, Pastor, officiating. Burial in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Smiths Station, AL. Public viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Taylor Funeral Home.
Hattie Estella Baker-Stanley was born on June 7, 1940, in Russell County, Alabama, to the late Deacon O.D. and Eula Mae Holland.
She lived a life rooted in faith, love, strength, and family, spending her years in Syracuse, New York, and Columbus, Georgia. Hattie was the true definition of a devoted wife. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Deacon Arthur Lee Baker on May 6, 1961, and they remained married until his passing in January 2008, sharing over 46 years of love, commitment, and family.
She later found love again and married Jimmy L. Stanley in March 2014, with whom she continued her life journey in companionship and devotion.
Hattie Estella Baker-Stanley, lovingly known as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully transitioned on March 17, 2026, at the age of 85.
Hattie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy L. Stanley; her beloved daughters, Phyllis Brooks of Columbus, GA, and Kikie Spence (Patrick) of Columbia, SC; her grandchildren, Raven S. Brooks of Columbus, GA, Raymond L. Brooks Jr. of Auburn, WA, Yajarai Spence, Keirrea Spence, Greyson Spence of Columbia, SC, and Malik Brooks, who preceded her in death.
She also leaves to cherish her memory her great-grandchildren, Ty'Lor M. Nunn and Legacy A. Davis, who carry forward her love and legacy.
Hattie is also survived by her loving siblings: Susie Coleman of Columbia, South Carolina; Lovella Malone of Columbus, Georgia; Otis Holland of Atlanta, Georgia; and Pink Daisy Brooks of Auburn, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her siblings Rosie Eskridge, Eula Mae Coleman, Mary V. Green, William Holland, and King Moses Holland.
Hattie's life was a reflection of resilience, devotion, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
