Hattie Mae Sumbry, 92, of Columbus, GA passed on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Antioch Baptist Church, 89 Isbell Road, Ft. Mitchell, AL with Rev. Fredrick Small, pastor officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be from 1 - 5 p.m. EST, Friday, April 11, 2025.
Mrs. Hattie Mae Sumbry was born on August 1, 1932 in Fort Mitchell, Alabama to the late Donie Piett Jones and Isaiah Coleman in Fort Mitchell Alabama.
Hattie accepted Christ at an early age and joined Antioch Missionary Baptist church. Hattie departed this life on Wednesday April 2, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Hattie was proceeded in death by her husband Matthew Sumbry, daughter Lisa Denise Jones, granddaughter Tacresha Jackson and thirteen siblings.
Hattie leaves to cherish her loving memory three sons, Leroy (Gwen) Jones of Temple Terrace Florida, Willie Jones of Columbus Georgia and Jerry (Veronder) Jones of Fayetteville Georgia; five daughters, Mildred Jones, Barbara (Elmore) Jackson, Dorothy Bell and Matilda Crocker of Columbus Georgia and Marie (Larry) James of Phenix City Alabama. One brother, Tommie Johnson of Columbus Georgia; Fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and host of relatives and friends. Special Thanks to Gentiva Hospice RN Nicole Miles, LPN Catrena Laney, LPN Shonta Davis and Utopia Unlimited LLC Healthcare Uniqua Jackson.
