Obituary For Homer Timothy "SHUGG" King

Homer T. "SHUGG" King, 64 of Phenix City, AL passed Saturday, June 18, 2022 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Smiths Station, AL with Rev. Jeffery McCauley, officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 24, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Mr. King was born April 9, 1958 in Columbus, GA to the late Herman King and the late Carrie Lee King. He was employed at Brickerstaff for 27 years until his health failed. He accepted Christ at an early age at Bethel A.M.E Church in Ft. Mitchell, then later joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Smiths Station, AL. He was a 1976 graduate of Central High School.

He was preceded in death by his beloved and devoted wife of 44 years Cynthia King; four brothers, Herman King, Jr., Arthur King, Melvin King and Vincent King, Sr.; three sisters-in-law, Diane King, Sara Woods and Brenda Clark; two brothers-in-law, Tommy Lee Clark, Sr. and Fred Bailey; father in law, J.T. Morgan; mother-in-law. Henry Lee Morgan and daughter-in-law, Shalome King

He leaves to cherish his precious memories three daughters, Latrina (James) Smith, Timnelia (Antonio) Dean and Chasade Bass all of Phenix City, AL; one son, Tarell King of Birmingham, AL; two sisters, Cathy James and Gloria (Jerry) Smith both of Phenix City, AL; one brother, Stanley (Earline) King of Phenix City, AL; nine sisters-in-law, Willie King, Ilean King, Shurrenda Bailey all of Phenix City, AL; Angelia Alston, Lorraine Walker, Linda (Jeffery) Williams all of Columbus, GA; Tina Morgan, Gail Morgan and Regina Morgan all of Phenix City, AL; seven brothers-in-law, Lindsey Clark, Napoleon (Melinda) Clark, Rev. Chris (Stella) Clark, Tony Clark, Stanley Morgan, Greg Morgan and Bobby Morgan all of Phenix City, AL; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two aunts, Louise Stephens and Julia Sumbry both of Phenix City, AL; two special friends, Andrew James and Robert Gay and a host of other relatives and friends.
