On June 20, 2026, God, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, called His beloved daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Williams Alexander, from labor to eternal rest. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, she peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to her heavenly home on her 75th birthday.
Jacqueline was born on June 20, 1951, to the late Nathel Williams and Whittie B. Heard Williams. She was raised in a loving family and developed the strong Christian values that guided her throughout her life. She attended Wachoochee High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1970.
At a very young age, Jacqueline confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully served her church family as a devoted Choir Member and later as President of the Choir until her health no longer permitted her active service. Her love for praising God through song remained a cherished part of her life.
Jacqueline was a hardworking and dedicated woman who believed in providing for her family through honest labor. She faithfully worked at Lesner Textile Mill for 35 years. In her later years, she continued her employment with Total System and Twin Cedars until her health failed.
She found joy in the simple treasures of life. Jacqueline loved singing, planting flowers, and spending precious time with her family. Whether tending her garden, lifting her voice in song, or creating cherished memories with those she loved, she brought warmth, beauty, and happiness wherever she went. Her loving spirit, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to family will forever be remembered.
Jacqueline was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert L. Alexander.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two devoted daughters, Jennifer C. Ferguson (Josuway Ferguson) and Tiffany S. Alexander-Nelson (David Nelson); one devoted son, Orlanda Williams, all of Smiths, Alabama; two granddaughters, Ayanna S. Franks of Phenix City, Alabama and Shaniah A. Fields of Smiths, Alabama; one great-grandson; Kyrie A. Franks; four sisters; Carrie N. Walker-Corbin, Margaret McCory (Earnest), Barbara J. Loud (Frank), all of Smiths, Alabama, and Geraldine Miller of Columbus, Georgia; three brothers, Robert Williams (Marilyn), Nathan Williams (Cathy), both of Smiths, Alabama, and Keith B. Williams of Illinois; along with a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives, and dear friends.
Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that Jacqueline's faith has become sight and that she now rests peacefully in the loving arms of her Savior.
Special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, Dr. Daryl Ellis, Ayanna Franks, Shaniah Fields, Margaret McCory, and Barbara Loud for the compassionate care, love, and support shown throughout Jacqueline's illness and transition.
