Jeannie Mae Jones, 60, of Phenix City, AL passed Sunday, January 21, 2024 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, January 27, 2024 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Brother Samuel Alexander, officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Cemetery, Cottonton, AL.
Mr. Jeannie Mae Jones was born June 25, 1963, in Cottonton, AL to Mary Katherine Jones Williams. Jeannie was raised by his grandparents, the late Merry Willie Jones, and the late Jessie Bell Jones.
Jeannie was a great cook who specialized in soul food cooking of which his family and friends enjoyed. He took up his culinary skills from his late grandma. Jeannie was added to the South Girard Church in 1989. He loved life, people and children. Jeannie proved himself to be a likable person. He was strickened with cancer in early July 2023. He fought a valiant battle until January 21, 2024. Jeannie loved his family. He escorted his mother and other family members to the doctors.
He is survived by both of his parents; nephew/son, Jaleel Javon Williams; six sisters, Sherry L. Williams, caregiver, Carol Ann Jones of Phenix City, AL, Charlotte D. Williams of Seale, AL, Mary Alice Williams and Stephanie B. Williams both of Columbus, GA, Angela Green of Eufaula, AL; eight brothers, Obbie Lee Williams, Jr., Eddie M. Williams of Columbus, GA, Edward J. Williams, Roy C. Williams of Phenix City, AL William Gleen (Mae), Joseph Green of Columbus, GA, Bernard Green of Atlanta, GA, Christopher Thompson of Texas; devoted niece and caregiver, Jacqueline D. Pearce and a host of other relatives and friends.
