Jelisa Shephard, 36, passed on Monday, February 2, 2026 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, February 12, 2026 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Public viewing is 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST on the day of service.
Miss Jelisa βDeeβ Shephard was born on September 5, 1989 in Union Springs, AL. She was the loving daughter of Curtis V. Crowell and Elicha Shephard.
She entered into eternal rest on February 2, 2026 in Columbus, GA. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mattie (Caylor) Shephard and Joe L. Jackson, Sr.; four uncles; two aunts and other family members.
Dee was truly the life of the party wherever she went---someone whose laughter filled every room and whose presence made every gathering brighter. She was a trusted confidant to both family and friends. She had an extraordinary gift for listening, offering, comfort and making people feel seen and loved. Her kindness, loyalty, and vibrant spirit touched everyone who knew her. She impacted everyone's life that she came in contact with. She will truly be missed.
Dee will forever be loved and missed by her loving children, Tasiah Shephard and Jameson Shephard both of Columbus, GA; devoted father of her children, Mekell Jenkins of Columbus, GA; mother, Elicha Shephard of Columbus, GA; her father, Curtis Crowell of Columbus, GA; her grandmother, Viola Jackson; three sisters, Laquera Shephard, Rasheedah Shephard both of Columbus, GA, Latoya Crowell of Phenix City, AL; one brother, Deaven Shephard of Columbus, GA; four aunts, Lessie Hubbard, Deloise Crowell, Ruby Shephard and Velma (Davin) Blyden all of Columbus, GA; three uncles, Lucerne Shephard of Union Spring, AL, Flester (Geraldine) Crowell of Seale, AL and Lewis Williams. She also leaves behind four nieces, six nephews, and a host of family and friends.
