Mr. Jerry Gary was born March 4, 1945 in Seale, AL to the late Richard and Jessie B.Gary. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior under the pastorate of Rev. Johnny B. Rutledge at Uchee Chapel A.M.E Church in Seale, AL.
He retired from Sunshine Biscuits in the year of 2000 after 27 years of service.
"Boot" as he was affectionally known was a simple man with an exemplary work ethic. He lived by the ethos "you get what you pay for". During his working years, while Sunshine Biscuits was his primary employer he simultaneously owned and operated a janitorial business where he often employed family and friends in their time of need. He was a giver, quiet, but wise. If you ever spent anytime with pops and he enjoyed your company you would definitely be given a nickname. Most of all he was a storyteller no matter the occasion, pops always had a story to tell.
Mr. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Gary and Jessie B.Gary; two brothers, Richard Gary, Jr. and Robert Gary.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his children, Annie Franklin and Pamela Brooks both of Phenix City, AL, Ronnie (Schelcy) Allen of Smiths Station, AL, CSM (R) Jerry D. Gary of Fortson, GA and Deon Gary of Columbus, GA; three brothers, Fletcher (Rosie) Gary of Salem, AL, Bruce Gary and Billy Gary both of Seale, AL; one sister, Viola Gary of Seale, AL and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
I remember Mr Jerry, as I knew him (Boot). He was tall. He would see me playing with my little bike and show me how to ride and let me go until I got it. Thank you for taking the time to teach me to ride. God is ready for you to help someone else now. Rev Janie Johnson, Ms Willie Mae Cowell, West Covina, California

I was talking to my wife last night about Uncle Jerry, and one of the greatest memories was of how humbled 🙂 this gentle Giant was. As great in Stature as he was even when he spoke you could hear a pin drop. The love ❤ he carried for his family, was immeasurable. Always a shake and a hug 🫂 🤗 ❤.
