Obituary For Jessie Crawford

Mr. Jessie Crawford, 87, of Ft. Mitchell AL died Sunday, July 28, 2019 in Ft. Mitchell, AL.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Friday, August 2,2019 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Fredrick Small, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 3-8 p.m. EST. Mr. Crawford was born December 31, 1931 to the late Tillie Henderson. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for over 70 years, serving as a Deacon and church treasurer for over 50 years. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Prince Hall Masonic Lodge #785. Mr. Crawford was also Owner and Operator of Crawford’s Grocery in the Mount Olive subdivision. Survivors include his wife, Helen Crawford; his children, Jessie Crawford, Jr., Lorinzo Crawford, Linda (Crawford) Cousin, and Ferdinard Crawford; a host of other relatives and friends.

So many memories of Mr. Crawford and his Grocery Store that was so eloquently called "The Sto", The Barrel" or 'The Hill" however he may have touched the lives of everyone in "The Sub" a true soldier and pillar of our community has gone home to rest. Thank you for sharing the gift of community with all of us in the Sub through "The Sto". Rest in Peace and I pray God's comfort and strength upon your family today and each day to come knowing you have gained your heavenly wings.

I Have so many memories of Mr.JEssie growing up as little girl, when I would visit my grandmother house who lived in front of the store, when she gave me money the store was my favorite place to and buy all the candy and Ice cream. Jessie was a great person he will truly be missed. Prayers For The Family.
