Jimmy Dixon, 78, passed on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in Phenix City, AL.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Friday, March 13, 2026 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home.
In loving memory, we honor the life of Jimmy Lee Dixon, a beloved father, brother, and friend who passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on January 29, 1948, in the heart of Phenix City, Alabama, Jimmy was a beacon of warmth and resilience whose legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Jimmy was the beloved son of the late Johnny and Louise Dixon, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion. He was preceded in death by his five brothers: Clyde, Johnny, Randy, Jerry, and Leroy Dixon, each of whom held a special place in his heart and now join him in eternal rest.
A devoted father, Jimmy leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. His four children—Johan Dixon of Columbus, Georgia; Latryce Horace of Columbus, Georgia; Jarvis Horace of Phenix City, Alabama; and Xaveria Horace of Phenix City, Alabama—were the pride and joy of his life.
Jimmy is also survived by his two brothers, Willie Lee (Angelia) Dixon of Southfield, Michigan, and Bruce Dixon of Oakland, California, along with his six sisters: Ella Seay of Columbus, Georgia; Patricia Riggins of Phenix City, Alabama; Irma (Bobby) Toobs of Phenix City, Alabama; Shelia (Thomas) Cook of Phenix City, Alabama; Barbara (Sidney) Thomas of Phenix City, Alabama; and Vonda (Clevland) Newsome of Phenix City, Alabama. Jimmy’s extended family includes a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will miss his infectious laughter and kind spirit.
Throughout his career, Jimmy dedicated over 30 years to his work as a printer at Litho-Krome in Columbus, Georgia. Jimmy’s work was not just a job, but a testament to his dedication and passion.
