Ms. Joycelyn “Lisa” Elias, 60, of Phenix City, AL passed Saturday, July 22, 2023 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Providence Baptist Church, Seale (Lato), AL with Rev. Felix Worthen, pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Phenix City, AL. Visitation is Friday, July 28, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Lisa was born in Columbus, GA on April 12, 1963 to the late Dorothy Elias and the late Jimmie Elias.
She graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1981; member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church; retired from Russell County School System and also worked with First Baptist Church, Columbus, GA.
Lisa’s dedication to the hospitality of serving food not only for work, but for the members of the church and she loved spending time and cooking at any family event.
Lisa is survived by her loving devoted daughter, Terichael Thornton; granddaughter, Journee Wheeler; siblings, Diane Wright (Alvin) of Montgomery, AL, Steve Elias (Tonya), Robin Echols and Derick Elias all of Phenix City, AL; nephews and nieces, Quinton (Tywoana), Courtney, Steven (mother-Tammy), Christa, Debbie, Jacoree, Yamisha, Antoine, Darren, Jakaleb, Kaidyn, Karson, Weston and Bryant; aunts, Bettye L. Maye of McCalla, AL, Dolores E. Allen (Leon), Jo Anne Elias and Carolyn Elias Lewis (Jimmie) all of Phenix City, AL, Marguerite Lyles of Columbus, GA and a host of other relatives and friends.
