Katie Mae βSutβ Kelley, 80, of Phenix City, AL passed on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Melissa Smith, Pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, July 17, 2026.
Katie was born May 13, 1946 to proud parents, the late Clarence and Katie Kelly. She was one of six children. Katie affectionately known as βSuttβ accepted Christ at an early age. She attended and still attends in spirit, Bethel A.M.E Church on Hwy 165, where Rev. Melissa Smith oversees the flock.
She was preceded in death by her son, Curtis Kelley, her sister, Barbra Jean Kelley-Hill, her brother, Richard Kelley, and two nephews, Curtis Hill and Willie Jones.
She enjoyed church, gospel music, and watching her old western shows. We remember her on this day and thank God for the time he allowed us to have with her.
She is survived by her five nieces; Deborah Spivey, Lisa Hill, Katina Hill, Kelly Hill, and Tracy Hill; three nephews; Larry Jones, Harry Hill, Jr. (Lavetta), and Tony Hill, siblings; Veronica Kelley, Andrew Kelley and Tommy Kelley all of Atlanta, GA and Calvin Copeland of Phenix City, AL and a host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
