Larry Johnson, 64, passed on Sunday, April 27, 2025 in Columbus, GA.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, May 3, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Carlos Coleman, officiating. There is no public visitation.
Larry Johnson, age 64, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025. He was born on March 19, 1961, in Eufaula, Alabama, to the late Mr. Nathaniel Johnson Sr. and Mrs. Mary Ella Johnson. Larry was the youngest of fourteen siblings. He was preceded in death by Roosevelt Johnson, Robert Johnson, David Johnson, Rufus Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Callie Mae Piett, Lillie Pearl Johnson, and Claudette Ham.
Larry accepted Christ at an early age. He joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church. He later joined New Birth Outreach Church.
Larry’s life was marked by quiet strength, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to hard work. A graduate of Chavala High School, Class of 1979, he went on to build a career in chemical operations, where his discipline and strong work ethic left a lasting impression. Larry accepted Christ at an early age. He joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church. He later joined New Birth OutReach Church
Though life brought many challenges, Larry faced each one with determination. He spent many years in Cincinnati, Ohio, before returning to Columbus, Georgia, where his next chapters began and where he would remain an integral part of his family’s story.
Larry found joy in working on cars, cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals and the University of Alabama, and embracing life’s simple routines.
Though quiet by nature, Larry’s legacy is one of endurance, strength, and love.

At the center of Larry’s life was his devoted wife, Enid ‘E’Johnson. Through every season, her love and loyalty never wavered. Her presence was a constant source of strength and comfort.
Larry was the loving father of two sons Travis Johnson and Kameron Johnson Sr. (Berayah); five daughters loving and devoted daughters Jazmine Johnson-Lowe (Jerriah), Keyana Jones, Ayana Jones, Taeyana Walker, and Samantha Upshaw. His grandchildren—Jasmyne Johnson, Tionna Johnson, Kameron Johnson Jr., Kayori Johnson, LaRyah Iva Johnson, Erin Jones, Samyra Upshaw—whom brought great joy to his life.
He is also survived by his loving siblings Nathaniel Johnson Jr. (Lula), Shirley Easley (John), Carl Johnson Sr. (Jeanette), Mary Coleman, and Margaret Pannell (Ron).
In addition, he is survived by Uncle Joseph Johnson, Aunt Ethel Razzer; mother-in-love Earnestine Crowell; sisters-in-love Kiowanya Crowell and Tilly Crowell; daughter-in-love Shanetta Johnson; and a host of other beloved family members and friends.
