Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, September 13, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Marcus Gibson, officiating. There will be no public viewing.

Mr. Leroy Cannon, Sr. was born July 23, 1948 in Indiana to the late Booker T. Cannon, Sr. and the late Josephine Cochran Cannon.
Leroy Cannon, Sr. of Columbus, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on August 31, 2025.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a devoted member of Mount Missouri Baptist Church in Hatchechubbee, AL, where he faithfully served as a deacon and choir member.
Mr. Cannon had a passion for cooking and baking, enjoyed dancing, and loved playing card games.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Booker Thomas and Josephine Cannon Sr.; his adopted mother, Julia Cochran; and his beloved wife, Mary Catherine Cannon.
Mr. Cannon is survived by his children, Leroy Cannon Jr., Marie Katherine Walton (Tommy), and stepdaughter Janice Cannon; his brother, Booker Thomas Cannon, Jr., and his sister, Viola Priel; sister in law, Bertha Ivey Douglas (Fred). He also leaves behind a loving legacy of eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Uncle Leroy, I'm so sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to you.You will truly be missed. Thank you for the child hood memories I'll always hold dear to my heart. May you rest peacefully, and watch over me along with granny. Love you always!

Every time you came to Ohio to visit, it was special and left us with memories we'll carry forever. Your presence made every gathering brighter, and your laughter brought comfort and happiness. I was sadden when heard of your passing. We'll miss your presence, you always visit us around Antioch for our family and friends celebration in May, also I will remember that good singing you blessed us with down at Mt Missouri and the surrounding churches. I remember when we use to visit during the Summer. The last time I saw you was 2010. We had a good conversation. My condolences and sympathy to the family. Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comfort. Weeping may endure for a night,but joy comes in the morning.
