Mr. Leroy Kelley, Jr., 69, of Phenix City, AL passed Sunday, July 4, 2021 in Columbus, GA.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Friday, July 9, 2021 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation is Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. EST.
Mr. Kelley was born August 24, 1951 in Columbus, GA to the late Leroy Kelley, Sr. and the late Louise Hill Kelley. He was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church, graduated from South Girard High School in 1970 and graduated from Tuskegee Institute in 1973. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1986 and worked for civil service for several years with the following federal agencies: Internal Revenue Service, Food and Drug Administration both in Atlanta, GA; Department of Defense in Ft. Benning, GA; earned a Masters in Public Administration from Columbus College in August of 1986 and then he entered into business with his father, Leroy Kelley, Sr. at Kelley's Barber Shop.
His survivors include his children, Joseph (Yolanda) Kelley, Stephan Kelley, Wytiker Kelley and Cynthia Kelley; one sister, Patricia (Harvey) Kelley,; five grandchildren, Yasmeen Kelley, Joshlyn Kelley, Khalil Newell, Trinity Stegall, Christian Kelley; one great granddaughter, Olivia Watkins; one stepson, Clem Jordan, Jr.; "The Wife" Cynthia Williams and a host of other relatives and friends. Lee and I worked together on Fort Benning. I shared many pleasant dinners and cherished memorable with him, his children and family over many years. I will miss him very much! I lost a dear and treasured friend. RIP Lee!
