At an early age, Lillian confessed to Christ and united with Burrell Chapel A.M.E. Church in Cusseta, Alabama. She served faithfully until her health declined. Throughout her years of service, she committed herself to various ministries, including the Missionary Society and the Stewardess Board. She also served for many years as the Young Peopleโs Division (Y.P.D.) Director and Junior Choir Director, as well as Treasurer of the Senior Choir.
Lillian was a proud 1968 graduate of Wacoochee High School. She was employed with West Point Stevens for more than 30 years, where she was a dedicated and faithful employee.
She found joy in the simple things in life. Her favorite hobbies included reading her Bible, working crossword puzzles, cooking, and, most importantly, spending precious time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished her family and the many memories they shared together.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings.
Her life was a beautiful testimony of faith, service, love, and devotion to her family. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Her loving ways and beautiful smiling face will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her precious memories are her two children: son, Everett (Valerie) Wimberly of Phenix City, AL, and daughter, LaWanda (Clarence) Johnson of Ellenwood, GA.
She also leaves to cherish her memory seven grandchildren: KaTora Wimberly, Justin Wimberly, Adriyana Williams, Kenneth Wimberly, Lawaun Williams, Quinton Wimberly, and Breonna Wimberly; and four great-grandchildren: Kamryn Wimberly, Kyndall Wimberly, Geonna Jackson, and Genesis Jackson.
