There are some people whose love becomes such a natural part of your life that it is hard to imagine the world without it. You were that person for me.

You were more than my mother-in-law. You loved me like a daughter, and in so many ways, you became a mother to me. You were my go-to person, the one I could talk to about anything, and someone I spoke with every day.

You never let me forget how much you loved me. You would often remind me how much you respected me and how grateful you were that I was the woman beside your son and so thankful for your grandchildren. You told me you knew he would be loved and cared for.

Your love for your family was immeasurable. There was nothing you would not do for dad, Chris, Mia, Kai, or for me. You gave so much of yourself to the people you loved, and you made each of us feel deeply cared for.

Your presence filled every space you walked into. You brought warmth, comfort, laughter, and love wherever you were. You had a way of making a house feel full simply because you were in it.

It is difficult to find words for a love and a loss this great. "I miss you" does not seem large enough to describe what is in my heart.

What I will always be grateful for is the privilege of being loved by you, trusted by you, and welcomed into your heart as family.

I will carry your words with me. I will carry the love you gave me. I will continue loving our family with the same devotion.

Your love did not end with your passing. It lives in the family you poured yourself into, in the memories you created, in the lessons you gave us, and in every life you touched.

You were deeply loved.

You will be deeply missed.

You will always be a part of us.

My Sister, Madelyn

There are some people who come into your life and leave footprints that time can never erase. Madelyn, you were that person for me.

You weren't just my friend. You were my Sister, someone I loved, laughed with, made memories with, and looked forward to making so many more memories with.

We were supposed to be celebrating my birthday together on our cruise a few days from now. I never imagined that instead, I would be trying to find the words to say goodbye to you.

I already miss your presence, your laughter, our conversations, and simply knowing that you were there. There are memories that only you and I shared, moments that may have seemed ordinary at the time but now mean more to me than I could ever explain.

I wish we had gotten that cruise. I wish we had gotten more birthdays, more conversations, more laughter, and more time. But I am so grateful for the time God did give us and for the blessing of being able to call you my Sister.

Rest peacefully, Madelyn. You will forever have a place in my heart, and I will carry our friendship and our memories with me for the rest of my life.
