Mary Williams, 81, passed on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at South Girard Church of Christ, 520 Fontaine Road, Phenix City, AL with Bro. Samuel Alexander, officating. Burial to follow at St. James Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing is 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday, July 18, 2025.
Mrs. Mary K. Williams was born to the late Mr. Merry Jones and Jessie Bell Jones on December 2, 1943.
Mary departed this life on July 8, 2025 in Phenix City, AL surrounded by loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents Merry and Jessie Jones, husband Obbie Lee Williams, son Jeannie Mae Jones, three sisters; Annie Lee Griggs, Willie Bell Johnson, Beatrice Williams, three brothers; Jimmy Lee Jones, Henry Lee Jones, Bobby Lee Jones and one grandson Ja'uan Dequez Williams.
Mary gave her life to Christ early. She was a member of Forrest Rd Church of Christ (Columbus, GA), but later became a member of South Girard Church of Christ (Phenix City, AL).
She loved life, people, and children. She enjoyed cooking breakfast for her family. Mary spent most of her time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed sitting out on the porch, listening to music, dancing, and singing. Mary had a warm and welcoming spirit, she was a true inspiration to her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories to five daughters; Sherry Williams, Carol Jones both of Phenix City, AL. Charlotte (Eddie) Bellamy of Seale, AL. Mary A. Williams and Stephanie (Fred) Williams, both of Columbus, GA. Four sons; Edward Williams and Roy (Marquita) Williams, both of Phenix City, AL. Eddie (Edna) Williams and Obbie (the late Sharonda) Williams Jr, both of Columbus, GA. Three sisters; Yvonne Jones, Minnie Lee Davis, and Jessie Pearl Ford. One brother, Eddie Jones. Thirty-three grandchildren, one godchild Sonya Dozier and a host of other loving family members and friends.
