Mr. Moses Lee Oliphant, 69, of Columbus, GA passed Friday, October 20, 2023 in Columbus, GA.
Graveside service will be 12 noon EST, Friday, October 27, 2023 at Evergreen Memorial Park, Columbus, GA with Pastor Daryl Stover, officiating. Visitation is Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Mr. Moses Lee Oliphant, lovingly known as “Lee” and "Moe" was born May 7, 1954 in Wrens, Georgia to the late James T. Oliphant and Ethel Gibbons Oliphant.
Moses graduated from North Miami Senior High School in 1972. After graduating, Moses served as a Sargent in the United States Army. He was eventually stationed at Fort Benning army base, where he met and married Dorothy Ann Upshaw in 1982. This union welcomed one daughter, Tasha.
Moses loved to sing, dance and especially tell jokes. He always said his gift to the world was making others laugh.
He will be missed by daughter, Tasha Licorish; daughter-in- law, Sherri Licorish; three sisters, Mae LaFavor, Rudine Hayes and Emma Oliphant Brown; three nieces, Sabrina Hayes, Kesua Hayes and Lucretia LaFavor; two nephews, Henry Law and Denise Law; two god-daughters, Victoria Williams and Nina Pryor and a host of extended family and friends.
I'm deeply sorry for your loss, words can not express. But the Bible gives us hope and comfor lt to know real soon death will be done away with.
