Nancy Crow Boden was the beloved eldest child of the late Floyd and Daisy Crow, born and raised in Russell County, Alabama. From the very beginning, Nancy lived a life rooted in love, responsibility, and service to others. She grew up in a close-knit family with four siblings, where she learned early the values that would guide her entire life-hard work, honesty, faith, and caring for others.
After the loss of her father, Nancy stepped naturally into a leadership role in her family. With quiet strength and maturity beyond her years, she helped her mother raise her younger siblings. This selflessness became a defining part of who Nancy was. She never sought recognition; she simply did what needed to be done, always placing others before herselt.
Nancy was known by all who encountered her as a woman with a gentle spirit and a servant's heart. She had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. Whether through a listening ear, a kind word, or steady encouragement, Nancy showed her love through action.
She attended St. Joseph School at Holy Trinity and later Mt. Olive School in Fort Mitchell, where she was loved by classmates, teachers, and staff alike. Her bond with Mt. Olive continued throughout her life when she returned as the school secretary under Principal Alphonso Johnson. Nancy treated every student as if they were her own-supporting athletic teams, traveling as a chaperone, and offering guidance whenever it was needed. Even while working full-time, she remained committed to her own education and earned her Associate of Arts degree
from Chattahoochee Valley Community College.
Nancy spent much of her professional life working in medical administration in the office of Drs. Festus and Lois Enumah. To many, she was more than an office manager-shewas the reassuring voice on the phone, the patient guide through insurance questions, and the calm presence during moments of uncertainty. Her compassion extended far beyond the office, and her reputation for care and dependability was known throughout local hospitals and clinics.
Faith was the foundation of Nancy's life. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and remained a faithful member of St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church in Fort Mitchell. She gave freely of her time, talents, and resources and served faithfully in many roles, most notably on the Usher Board. For Nancy, church was not just a place--it was family.
On July 8, 1983, Nancy married the love of her life, John M. Boden. Their 42-year marriage was built on loyalty, trust, anddeep devotion. Together, they shared a love that was steady, genuine, and enduring. They enjoyed traveling to visit family in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida, and they especially loved spending time together doing what brought them joy-shopping, laughing, and simply being together. Above al, Nancy treasured time with her family, friends, and church family.
Nancy's greatest joy and deepest treasure was her daughter, Germayne. With unwavering devotion, she made great sacrifices to ensure that Germayne understood the value of hard work, perseverance, and education. Nancy was the steady encouragement, the quiet strength, and the driving force behind Germayne's pursuit of multiple degrees and her success in higher education. Every accomplishment was rooted in Nancy's love, prayers, and belief that education was a pathway to purpose and possibility.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brothers, Lawrence T. Crow and Jimmie L. Crow.
She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her devoted husband, John M. Boden of Phenix City, AL; her cherished daughter, Dr. Germayne Crow Graham, and son-in-law, Dr. Anthony T. Graham of Orlando, FL; her precious grand- daughters, Alexandria and Lauren Graham of Orlando, Florida to whom she was affectionately known as "Nana"; her loving sisters, Daisy Bynam and Dorothy Hatchett of Fort Mitchell, AL; sisters-in-law Gloria Crow of Ft Mitchell AL, Sheila McDonald of Mebane NC, Brenda McQuitty and Marcia Williams of Fayetteville, NC and brother-in-law Larry McDonald of Mebane NC; stepdaughters, Marcia Lipford, Sharon Lang and Grace Lipford her uncle, Kimet Woolfolk; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, frienas, andcoworkerswhoweretouchedbuherlite.
Nancy Crow Boden lived with grace, loved deeply, and served faithfully.
Her life was a blessing, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Our condolence to Nancy's family during this difficult time. I recall often spending time together on Saturdays at the beauty shop. She was so full of life and she actually made the time there go by fast as she would come in there some Saturdays and definitely move things along when she didn't have time to "chit chat". Rest in peace! Nancy. Respectfully,
Mrs. Nancy was like a second mom to us. She always embraced us with love and a smile that was contagious. I will always remember her deep love for family and faith in God. The tears may flow but the memories will never fade. Love you Nana.
