Nettie Godfrey, passed on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST, Thursday, November 20, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Grant, officiating. Interment to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Public viewing is 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

Nettie Lois Godfrey was born on March 8,1950, in Graceville, Florida to the late Charlie Broxton and the late Gussie Mae Broxton.

Ms. Nettie navigated to Newark, NJ in her younger years where she began working as a dental assistant, she later began her career as a child care worker where she worked for many years until she retired.

Ms. Nettie resided in Columbus, GA where she departed this earthly life on November 12, 2025. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur George Godfrey, Sr.; one son, Merrill Broxton; three brothers, Eugene Broxton, Jerry Broxton, and Richard Broxton.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Arthur (Liquita) Godfrey, Jr. of Columbus,Ga; two sisters Martha Lawson of Newark New Jersey and Callie Mae Broxton of Graceville, FL; one brother, Charles (Marilyn) Broxton of Troustman, NC; a special niece, Lisa Broxton of Newark, NJ; one granddaughter, Saniyyah Louissant of Newark, NJ and one grandson, Kamdyn Godfrey of Columbus, GA; a host of other relatives and friends.
