Obituary For Oscar White, Jr.

Oscar White Jr., 76, of Phenix City, AL, passed on Thursday, August 13, 2026 in Columbus, GA.

Graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. EST on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Felix Worthen, officiating. Public viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Oscar White, Jr. was born to the union of Oscar and Lucille White on November 5, 1949. Oscar proudly served in the United States military with honor, courage and dedication. His family will always be proud of his service and sacrifice to our country.

On Thursday, August 13, 2026 Oscar peacefully departed this earthly life and entered into his heavenly home, where he now rests in the eternal presence of the Lord. Though his earthly journey has ended, his love, faith, and cherished memories will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father in law, Arthur Mahone whom he had a special bond with.

Oscar leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Lawanda White; his two children Jessica White and Oscar White, III; his step children; Melissa Dozier and Cedric Moore; his grandchildren; Marissa and Mariah Dozier, Marquis Harps, Jeremiah and Cedric Moore; one great grandchild, Kyaire Harps; mother in law, Barbara Mahone; sisters in law, Sheila Mahone-Belt (Jack), Marie Mahone-Allen (Michael), and Angela Jackson (Edridge); cherished cousins; Shirley Jean Dowell, Adrene D. Feagins (Willie R.), Isaac Dowell (Verie), Janice Robertson (Ozzie), Willie Ford (Gloria), Peggy Dowell (Julius); special friends, Willie Wright and Kenny Chamber.

Oscar also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, neighbors, and fellow service members who will also cherish his memory.

Oscar lived a life of love, family, service and purpose. HIs presence will be deeply missed, but his memory and legacy will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
