Rev. Bobbie Lee Hodge 79, of Salem, AL, passed on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at St. Paul C.M.E. Church, Crawford, AL with Pastor Dr. Raynetta Prevo - Williams, officiating, Rev. James Q. Smith, eulogist. Interment to follow in St. Paul C.M.E. Church Cemetery. Public visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. EST.

Born on March 28, 1946, in the scenic countryside of Salem, Alabama, Reverend Bobbie Lee Hodge grew up surrounded by the love of a large family and a close-knit community. As one of nine children, Bobbie's early days were filled with laughter, kinship, and the simple joys of country life—a foundation that shaped a heart full of compassion and generosity.

From a young age, Bobbie's spirit was guided by faith. Answering a sacred calling, he was ordained in the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church, where he served with unwavering devotion. Whether leading congregations at New Hope CME Church in Salem, Alabama, or Freeman Chapel in Lafayette, Alabama, Bobbie's ministry was marked by kindness, wisdom, and a deep commitment to uplifting others. His gentle counsel and steadfast belief in living the Gospel touched countless lives, inspiring hope and unity wherever he went.

Bobbie and Rosa Nell were united in marriage and were blessed with two sons, Tony and Bobby Hodge, Jr., whom they raised with unwavering devotion. Through every season—both joyful and challenging—they stood by one another, offering steadfast support. For Bobbie, the countryside was more than a place; it was a source of peace and happiness. He treasured every moment spent among family and friends, finding laughter and deep joy in the simple pleasures of togetherness. Surrounded by loved ones, he created memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

Though he worked diligently at the Eagle and Phenix manufacturing mill to provide for his family, Bobbie's greatest legacy was his faith and service. He believed that true ministry meant embodying the teachings of love, integrity, and responsibility—not just in words, but in daily life. His presence was a source of comfort and inspiration, both in the pulpit and throughout the community.

As he journeyed through life, Bobbie faced loss with grace, remembering his parents, Harrison Hodge, Sr., and Alma Hodge, and his brother, Harrison Hodge, Jr., with love. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Rosa Nell Hodge; his sons, Tony Hodge and Bobby Hodge, Jr. (San); his siblings, Elroy Hodge, Clementene Pearson, Nonie Daniels, Homer Hodge (Barbara), Henry Hodge (Julia), David Hodge (Valerie), and Almeda Drake (Maurice); and a vast circle of nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends, and spiritual family. Each carries forward the light of his example—a legacy of faith, compassion, and enduring love.

Reverend Bobbie Lee Hodge's life was a testament to the power of kindness, faith, and family. His memory will forever be cherished by all who were blessed to know him.
