Mr. Robert Wade, Sr., 89, of Columbus, GA passed on Friday, March 20, 2026 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Friday, April 3, 2026 at New Providence Baptist Church, Columbus, GA with Brenda Crawford, officiating, Rev. MD McCullough Sr., Pastor. Burial at Rocky Mount Baptist Church Cemetery in Eufaula, AL. Public viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. EST on the day of service.
On Friday, March 20, 2026, a limb fell fro our family tree. It was the strongest limb that held us together you see. God knows best and we truly understand that our father is now resting in the Master's Hand.
Mr. Robert Wade, Sr. was born in Tuskegee, AL on June 1, 1936 to the late Louise and Mr. Spencer. Robert, Sr. was later raised by Maggie & Will Wade. He confessed Christ at an early age and later united with New Providence Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Rev. Albert McCorvey, Sr.
On March 31, 1959 he was united in Hoy matrimony with the late Ella Mae Louder Wade and to this union seven children were born. He retired from the Coca Cola Bottling Company and later employed with Goody's Industry and the Columbus Community Center.
He leaves to cherish his memories, four daughters, Brenda (Rudolph) Crawford, Angela (Lorenzo) Jones, Abigail (Jeffery) Taylor all of Columbus, GA, and LaToya (Ta) Williams of Marietta, GA; three sos, Robert (Willie Mae) Wade, Jr., Richard (Charlotte) Wade and Terrence (Erica) Wade all of Columbus, GA; 38 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; five sisters, Katie (Daniel) Hill, Kaponia Bigham, Lueester Jeffrey, Delois (James) Bouiye and Leola Dent; three brothers, David Dent, John Dent, and Jessie Mitchell; two sisters in law, Adell Hicks of Columbus, GA and Tina Dent of Slocum, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
