Sis. Roberta Jackson Williams, 83, of Salem, AL passed Sunday, July 17, 2022 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, Salem, AL. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is Friday, July 22, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. EST.
Sis. Roberta Jackson Williams was born November 5, 1938 in Lee County, AL to the late Marvin and Effie Mae Stringer Jackson. She was the oldest daughter of seven children.
Sis. Roberta confessed Christ at an early age at Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. She remained a faithful member until she was called to rest. She was a member of the Senior Choir, Missionary Society and assisted in any capacity needed.
Sis. Roberta attended Sugar Hill School, Flint Hill School and graduated valedictorian in 1959 from Wacoochee High School’s first graduating class. She was a supervisor at Leshner Mills Corporation for 18 years and a receptionist at Children and Family Connection for 15 years.
She married James Albert Williams and to this union three children were born.
Sis. Roberta will be remembered for her love of cooking; her specialties included chicken dressing, collard greens and don’t forget her banana pudding. Her wisdom, strength and compassion for her family and friends will be remembered.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, James Albert Williams; parents Marvin and Effie Stringer Jackson and her brother, Fletcher Jackson, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Evelyn (Johnny) Smith of Atlanta, GA and Elaine Kennell of Phenix City, AL; one son, James Anthony Williams of Smiths, AL; three grandchildren, Jamie Kennell of Phenix City, AL, Whitney (Justin) Hill and Shantelle Smith both of Atlanta, GA; two great grandchildren, Jaida and Jace Hill both of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Morris (Curvine) Jackson of Smiths, AL; four sisters, Ardella Williams of Salem, AL, Bertha (Bobby) Cochran of Smiths, AL, Ruthie (Frank) Barr and Betty Jean McCullough both of Chicago, IL; two sisters-in-law, Vience Jackson of Phenix City, AL and Myrtis Hightower of Salem, AL; one brother-in- law, Raymond (Molly) Williams of Salem, AL; a special companion, Willie J. Madden of Salem, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Granny girl .... I know you are 83 but you still left me to soon. We still had things to do we talked about over the phone. I love you so I can't say it enough. I miss you way to much already.
