Mr. Roosevelt Mahogany, 79, of Phenix City, AL passed Saturday, December 28, 2024 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST Friday, January 3, 2025 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church located at 4434 Sandfort Rd.,Seale, AL with Rev. Michael Burton, pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Public visitation is 2:00-5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Deacon Roosevelt "Buddy" Mahogany, age 79, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 28, 2024, in Phenix City, AL, surrounded by his wife, daughter, and sister-in-law.
He was born on May 9, 1945, in Russell County, Phenix City, AL, to the late Joe Mahogany Sr. and Ethel Mae Mahogany.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kelvin N. Mahogany, and his siblings: Joe Mahogany Jr., Archie Lee Mahogany, Bertha M. Porch, Annie P. Mobley, Ruby N. Reese, and Louise King.
He graduated from Mt. Olive High School and for many years worked at Opelika Textile and later worked for Vectorply Corporation in Phenix City, AL, where he retired.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Annie P. Mahogany; his daughter, Anissa D. Mahogany Bush; his granddaughters, Kennisha Osborne and Sanaa Marshall; the grandson he raised as his son, London Mahogany; London's wife, Jazmine Mahogany; and four great-grandchildren: Aesir and Zyan Mahogany, Brianna Jennings, Nylah Williams and Mahogany Means. He also leaves behind one sister-in-law, Mary Cooper; and two sisters, Martha Hood and Mary None, Mary's husband Sanford None, and cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
