Roy Dixon, 79, of Phenix City, AL passed on Sunday, February 22, 2026 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, March 7, 2026 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Minister Joseph Jones, officiating. Burial in Edmonds Cemetery. No public viewing.
Mr. Roy Dixon was born on July 1, 1946, to the late Thomas Dixon, Sr., and the late Mary Jackson Dixon. He peacefully transitioned from this life on February 22, 2026.
At an early age, Roy accepted Christ as his personal Savior and began his lifelong journey of faith.
After graduating from high school, Roy began working at Ft. Benning, Georgia. In 1973, he relocated to El Paso, Texas, where he continued his career in civil service. Roy had a deep love for baseball and was affectionately given the nickname "Pepitone." He enjoyed playing with a local baseball team in El Paso, Texas, and cherished the camaraderie and competition the sport brought into his life.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Dixon, Sr., and Mary Jackson Dixon; seven brothers, Thomas Dixon, Jr., Joseph "Jay Bird" Dixon, Andy Dixon, Charlie Dixon, Allen Dixon, David Dixon, and Walter Dixon; and four sisters, Willie Lee Jones, Fannie Dixon-Caldwell, Julia M. Lawrence, and Josephine Allen.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sisters, Mable Dixon of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Dorothy Mayle of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever honor his life and legacy.
