Rozell Floyd, 70, of Valley, AL passed on Sunday, February 1, 2026 in Valley, AL.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Marshall Morgan, officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Public viewing is 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Rozell “Pookie” Floyd was the beloved son of Roy and Channie Bell Floyd. He was born August 6, 1955 in Lee County, AL.
At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined the Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Salem, Alabama where he served as an usher, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, and a Deacon.
He was a 1975 graduate of Smiths Station High School. He was employed with West Point Stevens until the company closed. He was later employed with Knauf Fiberglass until their company closed as well. He then begin working at Interface Flooring in Lagrange, GA until he retired in February 2025.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Mary Lou Frederick on August 12, 1995. They enjoyed 30 years of happiness, love, and wonderful memories. To this union a blended family of five children were joined together.
He was a loving husband, son and a devoted father and grandfather. He was quiet, kind, and always cheerful. He cherished his family, friends, and loved ones. He enjoyed going to church, working out in the yard, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved watching sports and talking about sports. He was an avid Auburn football fan. War Eagle!!!!
Rozell Floyd entered into a place of eternal rest in Auburn, AL on Sunday, February 1, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Roy (Joe) and Channie B. Floyd; his son, LiQuori Brown and his brothers, Roy Lee Floyd and Carl Core, and his nephews, Joseph Thomas, Jr, George Thomas, and Darion King.
His memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of his loved ones: a devoted wife, Mary Floyd; three daughters, Tolandra Harris, Sheronica Bailey, and Shonkedra Bailey, Valley, AL and one son, Terriona Bailey (Gloria), Valley, AL; one brother, George Floyd, Sr, Salem, AL, two sisters, Joann Roberson and Lizzie Thomas Robinson, Salem, AL, four sisters in law, Barbara Core, Pearlie Darden, LaShanda Floyd, Betty Tillman (Valley, AL); two brothers in law, Johnny B. Fredrick and Jimmy Fredrick; twelve loving grandchildren, Anani, China, Gabriel (Diara), Gavin, Jakari, Kevion, Kevonte, Lamartrez, Rashon, Stavonte (Kierra), TJ, and Xavier; two great grandchildren, Kalani and Kennedi; two aunts, Edith Coleman (Birmingham, AL) and Ida McCullough (Chicago, IL) and one uncle, David Floyd, Sr. (Valley, AL), a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
