On May 12, 2026, Rubbie L. Daniel peacefully transitioned from this earthly life into her eternal rest with the Lord.
She was born on January 21, 1950, in Russell County, Alabama, to the late Leola Vaughn and Boise Hodge.
Rubbie received her early education in the Phenix City School System, where she attended school from her elementary years through high school. She later continued her studies at D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York, earning a degree in Nursing. With a compassionate heart and a servant’s spirit, she devoted her professional life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse and retired from Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia.
Rubbie was a devoted and faithful member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church, where she served the Lord with love, humility, and dedication. Her service included:
Co-Chair of Joseph’s Community P.I.C.M., Pastor’s Wife Ministry, Healthcare Ministry Women’s Sunday School Class, Bible Study and Prayer Line.
She was also a proud member of the Nursing Guild, where she supported fundraising efforts and helped provide scholarships to others. Rubbie had a special love for pets and found joy in traveling, but above all, she was happiest when caring for others. Her kindness, warmth, and giving spirit touched many lives and will be remember.
Rubbie was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her beloved daughter, Lachelle Stewart. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Brent K. Peterson, along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
