Sally Harris, 85, passed on Sunday, July 6, 2025 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, July 13, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. No public viewing.
Born on 8/24/1939 in Smith Station AL, Sally lived a life marked by strength, kindness, and unwavering faith. As a single mother, she raised her six children with extraordinary love, resilience, and grace. She worked tirelessly as a nurse, dedicating herself to the care and comfort of others both in her profession and within her community.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Sally lived by example—always putting others before herself and offering a warm heart and open arms to anyone in need. Her home was a place of comfort and joy, often filled with the smell of her delicious cooking and the laughter of her grandchildren, whom she adored and lovingly spoiled.
She had a heart for service, whether through her work in healthcare or simply being a supportive neighbor and friend. Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and steadfast devotion to her family and those around her.
Sally is preceded in death by her children: Phyllis McMillan, James Dunn, and Gerald Dunn. Her parents: Robert and Evelyn Harris, and her siblings Perry Harris, Calvin Harris, Dewayne Harris, Fred Harris, Ida Bynum, and Jean Wimberly. She is survived by her siblings: Alice Hunter and Janice McCoy, her children: Eric Dunn, Joni Dunn, and Joyce Dunn. Also, her beloved grandchildren: Tameka (Michael) Campbell, Jessie Dunn, Kimber (Turhan) Knight, Willie Dunn, Eric Dunn Jr. Jamichael Johnson, Eric Dequindre Dunn, Tiauna Hall, Tabernisha Warren, Keihanna Dunn, Wayman Warren, Gerald Harris, and Michaela Dunn. She also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends whose lives she touched deeply.
She will be remembered for her warm smile, her comforting meals, and the strength with which she faced life’s challenges.
Her love lives on in the many lives she helped shape.
