Mr. Samuel Howard, 71 of Phenix City, AL passed Saturday, December 5, 2020 in Columbus, GA.
Graveside service will be held 12 Noon EST, Friday, December 11, 2020 at Uchee Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Willie J. Burton, officiating. Visitation is Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 1-5.
On July 2, 1949 God blessed the Howard family with a loving provider and protector, Samuel Howard. He was the third born of six to the late Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher and Catherine Howard Sr. At an early age, Samuel became a devoted member of Uchee Hill Baptist Church where he first accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He held the role of Assistant Superintendent of Sunday school and faithfully attended Morning Worship services and other church meetings until the declining health of his elderly parents prevented him from doing so.
Samuel was a very hard-working man. In the early 1970s, He graduated from Columbus Technical College where he earned his general contractor’s license. From there, he proceeded to build his own successful contracting business from the ground up. Throughout his life, Samuel’s main focus was God, family, and work. He was always there for his family and took great joy in providing for his elderly parents up to their passing.
Samuel is preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Catherine Howard Sr. and sister Clidean (Tommy C.) Epps. He leaves to cherish his memory: Claudette (William L.) Fannings, Fletcher Jr. (Eddie Lou) Howard, Otis Sr. (Geraldine) Howard, Mary Ann Howard, Loretta (Mark) Rose, Louise Watkins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
