Obituary For Sarah Thomas
Mrs. Sarah Lena Jones Thomas, 89, of Salem, AL passed on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 in Salem, AL.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Marshall Morgan, officiating. Visitation is Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 3-5 p.m. EST.
Mrs. Sarah Lena Jones Thomas was born May 5, 1933 to the late Brady and Mary L. Jones in Lee County, Alabama. Sarah loved, praised and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir until her health declined.
Sarah was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Raymond Thomas, Sr. on October 4, 1954. This union was blessed with four children, Barbara Cartwright, Raymond (Elaine) Thomas Jr., Margaret Jones and Ronald (Janice) Thomas. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her two brothers, three sisters, and one granddaughter.
Sarah leaves a beautiful and loving memory that will forever be cherished in the hearts of her eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; one godson, Roylee (Shonda) Floyd; two brothers; Samuel (Martha) Jones and James Jones; one sister, Emma Jean Pitts; one sister-in-law, Mary Emma Thomas along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
